BTW.. would I be able to use twhirl full screen? That wud be awesome!
  • V1kram · 11 months ago
I hope more than 20 tweets load on startup in the new version, unlike the old version. Would appreciate it if we could atleast get a choice, of how many tweets should load at startup.
  • @Twittergator · 11 months ago
Sounds like the most awesome Twitter client the world has ever seen! LOL Seriously, this sounds even better than I had hoped. Can not wait to test and review the latest Twhirl.
Thanks to all the team involved in bringing this tool to twitter.

  • Marc Brooks · 11 months ago
    Two must-haves for me:
    1) User groups (so I can have my family, coworkers and etc. in different tabs)
    2) Persist the tweets into a local store (or automatically go back into time to the last tweet seen) so when Twhirl is closed, I can start it back up and not miss any tweets!
  • thomasknoll · 11 months ago
    1) We're working on that one. You can hack it by doing a search for usernames, or "from:username OR from:username OR from:username" but that caps at 140.
    2) Related to the *real* solution for #1, we'll have to start storing data on a server to provide those types of features. Which is definitely on our radar, but will have to be another step down the road.

All that said, we would *love* to hear more about how you imagine those features working. =)
  • Randy J. Ray · 11 months ago
I'd be happy to test-drive it for you, I've been having a lot of teething problems on Linux with the beta AIR 1.5.

    Cheers!

Wow! very nice improvements, im testing new twhirl.
could you make just one window for everything, with columns for seesmic, FF, twitter, search1,search2 ?
  • pixites · 11 months ago
what I still don't seem to understand (and what I thought to be included) is a multiple screen, like I could see (with 1 blink of the eye) what's happening at: twitter, friendfeed, fastcompany, thenextweb, mashable, rww, err, on any internet device wanted?)
  • Howard Rheingold · 11 months ago
I've been using it today and loving it.
  • Loic Lemeur · 11 months ago
thank you all and thank you Howard!
  • Aaron · 11 months ago
Just now playing with new twhirl - very cool! I'm a big ping.fm fan and that led me to new twhirl. Which 'Ping My' does twhirl use? The default? Can I change the ping settings on the fly? thanks!!
  • Mark Guim · 11 months ago
Just added the ping.fm key and it now posts to my facebook and jaiku and twitter. How do I limit it to just certain services? For ex. I just want to post to twitter and jaiku not facebook
  • Loic Lemeur · 11 months ago
Mark, just change the settings in ping.fm
  • Mark Guim · 11 months ago
i meant on the fly like what aaron said. Sometimes I want to push to all services but sometimes I want to exclude certain services.
  • Loic Lemeur · 11 months ago
yes, I hear you, we will plan it for a future release
  • normgregory · 11 months ago
As I understand it with the new Twhirl you can RESPOND to a video conversation but can't INITIATE such a conversation.

Any video demo around to show this?

Thanks . .. the new app is great.
  • Loic Lemeur · 11 months ago
of course you can also initiate a video conversation right from there by
just clicking on the record red button
  • svartling · 11 months ago
The new Twhirl is great! Ping.fm integration is awesome! I've switched from TweetDeck.
There is a bug though with the "in reply to" links. They don't work.
  • Loic Lemeur · 11 months ago
yes, we are on the in reply to bug thanks!
  • thierry_andriamirado · 11 months ago
It seems great! I'll give it a try on Ubuntu GNU/Linux Intrepid as soon as possible.
  • normgregory · 11 months ago
You mean initiate at the Seesmic site. Yes . . . But I was asking about the possibility of initiating from Twhirl.
  • Kathy Dragon · 11 months ago
humm,. exciting....Twhirl has been stagnant in Dock for a few weeks testing out Ping, Tweet Deck and PeopleBrowsr so this sounds great! would love to try it!
  • Tom · 11 months ago
    Salut Loic,
Not sure if this has been said before but I'd like to be able to choose the browser when clicking on a link in Twhirl, it opens IE, I'd like to be able to select Google Chrome..
  • Loic Lemeur · 11 months ago
Hi Tom, yes, it is an Adobe Air problem unfortunately
  • 4fthawaiian · 11 months ago
Sent through my email address a little while ago, but haven't received an email yet. :(

Anyway, the new version sounds great! Looking forward to trying out the ping.fm support, especially.

    Keep up the good work.
